The biggest shift has been in ecosystem fragmentation giving way to convergence. The Qi2 standard, launched in 2023, brought MagSafe-style magnets to Android, letting any Qi2 pad charge any Qi2 phone at full speed. For consumers, this means one charger on the nightstand works for everything on it.
